Frequently Asked Questions
Q: What age groups do you work with? A: We work with middle school, high school, and college students. Every student is different, so our coaching is tailored to their age, experience level, and goals. Whether we're helping a middle school student build confidence speaking up, a high school student prepare for leadership opportunities, or a college student prepare for the professional world, we meet students where they are and help them grow.
Q: What skills do students learn through Voice & Visibility? A: Our programs are built around three essential areas: Communicate, Present, and Lead. Students learn everyday communication skills, presentation and speaking skills, and leadership skills that help them confidently use their voice in school, relationships, future careers, and life.
Q: Does my student need to already be a strong speaker? A: Not at all. Our programs are designed for students at all confidence levels. Some students love speaking and want to grow their skills, while others want to feel more comfortable expressing themselves. We meet students where they are and help them build from there.
Q: Do you only work with students interested in media or public speaking? A: No. While our training is built from real-world newsroom and communication experience, the skills we teach apply far beyond a microphone or presentation stage. Students use these skills in classrooms, friendships, interviews, leadership roles, and everyday conversations.
Q: My child has severe stage fright. Will this be too overwhelming? A: Not at all. In fact, many students begin working with Voice and Visibility Co. because they feel nervous speaking in front of others, struggle to express themselves, or simply want to feel more confident. We start where each student is and create a supportive environment where they can build skills, practice safely, and celebrate progress along the way.
Q: Can parents attend the coaching session? A: Parents are welcome to attend the discovery call and help fill out the student information form. Individual coaching sessions are typically one-on-one so students have space to practice, take ownership of their growth, and build confidence independently. We keep parents connected through milestone updates and progress summaries.
Q: Do you offer virtual or in-person sessions? A: We offer virtual coaching nationwide via Zoom. For schools, youth organizations, and private cohorts in the Piedmont Triad region, we provide customized, in-person workshops, assemblies, and multi-week labs.
Q: Do you accept purchase orders? A: Yes, we partner with school districts, private schools, and youth non-profits and organizations. We can provide W-9 forms, necessary paperwork, quotes, and invoices that keep you compliant.
Q: What makes a journalist uniquely qualified to teach students? A: Journalism is all about communicating clearly, thinking quickly, and connecting with people in real time. After decades in newsrooms, Cami brings proven storytelling, interviewing, and on-camera communication strategies into student training. These real-world skills help students organize their thoughts, respond confidently, and communicate effectively in classrooms, interviews, leadership roles, and beyond.
Q: What’s the first step? A: Book a discovery call. We’ll learn more about your student’s goals, recommend the best next step, and create a plan to help them grow as a confident communicator.
Q: I already know I want to book with Voice and Visibility Co. Do I still need to book a discovery call? A: Even if you already know which service you're interested in, we still begin with a discovery call. This allows us to understand your goals, confirm the right fit, and review scheduling, payment, and next steps.
Q: I want to book a discovery call, but I'm not available during any of the open appointment times. Can we schedule a discovery call time for a time not shown on the calendar? A: Absolutely. Please use the Contact form to let us know details about your situation and at least three preferred dates and times. We'll do our best to accommodate your schedule.
Q: I don't see the exact service I'm looking for listed on the website. Can you create a custom plan for me? A: Yes, custom package creation is possible.
Q: Do you travel for workshops? A: Yes. Travel within 25 miles of our headquarters in High Point, NC is included. Beyond that, additional travel fees may apply.
